After a not-so-great lunch at our hostel, Nikki and I decided to satisfy our hungry tummies with pancakes (for Nikki), chicken and sushi (for me). As so, we headed out to Holland V hue hue hue
I had previously heard some good reviews of Park Cafe and their pancakes so we decided to try it out. The cafe is really near the Holland V. Mrt station, actually, you'll be able to see it once you step out the station. Its kind of in the middle of nowhere (??), with a huge yellow canopy shading the cafe. The words 'PARK' were boldly printed on the canopy and signboards lined the entrance to the cafe.
We got kinda side-tracked by a halloween shop that was right next to it. Correction: Nikki got side-tracked. She all but dragged me over there hahahha that girl has a thing for the creepy holiday.
The menu is super cute and they have very friendly customer service! A guy greeted us with a huge smile as we approached the cafe so that was nice. After flipping through the menu, Nikki decided to get pancakes with salted caramel ice-cream.
The menu had some really interesting combinations hahah they had a pancake + salmon dish which was just kind of weird..?
The food came quite quickly and it was plated adorably! There were marshmallows on the ice-cream which kind of made me reminisce of my childhood days. The pancakes were quite thick and fluffy and they tasted absolutely delicious. For $9.5 it was quite worth it.
Halfway through our meal, Nikki had a sudden craving for coffee, and as the coffee looked rather cheap (it was only $3.5), she ordered an espresso.
This was a very surprising order. When it came, we both looked at the cup, then back at each other, then back at the cup again. We couldn't believe that that was the coffee! The cup was tiny! Tiny was probably an understatement! And the coffee inside the TINY cup only filled like a quarter of it??? They did give two biscuits-with-the-cute-icing-thingy-that-we-ate-as-kids with it, but that did not cover up the sadness that came with the coffee.
Nikki said "they cheat my feelings!" about
Turns out, they didn't get the order wrong, and that was actually the espresso. HAHAHAHHA Nikki had to add like three packets of sugar and some of the water in my cup. It was really not worth it.
I had my delicious chicken wings from Old Chang Kee. Seriously, the have the best, most affordable chicken wings ever. $1.5 for one!
I got my sushi toooo! I've been having cravings for sushi since like a month ago so YAYYYYYY
Cheers for a good weekend spent.

It was literally a quarter of the cup. IT CAME LIKE THIS.
You can see how tiny it is compared to the cup next to it.
Adding sugar
Adding water
Also, I have to recommend this cover to you. Its a cover of 'Love On Top ' by Leroy Sancez.
Its seriously one of the best covers of Love On Top. I have been a little more than obsessed with this cover hahah you can confirm that with Nikki. It's been on replay on my iTunes library since like Tuesday. I love it because of the way he sings it so effortlessly, especially at the change of key. Plus, he has an adorable smile. But pffft, that's not the main reason I like this cover.
Do check it out:
